Curated luxury retreats in iconic locations.

Permission to put yourself first.

Immersive, boutique retreats designed to help you reconnect with yourself.

Not a spa weekend. Not a vacation.

A WellAway.

This is what happens when you finally put yourself first.

Every retreat blends movement, stillness, real conversation, and beautiful food, in a space where you can be truly yourself and nourish your body.

Our retreat formats range from day events, overnights, extended weekends, and even a week abroad. We curate every detail with intention, so you remember what it feels like to put yourself first, and feel special doing it. Stay for however much time you have to give yourself.

Shifting The
Paradigm on Retreats

Retreats are not just for yogis — that outdated definition has kept too many women from something they genuinely need. At their core, they're about connection, authenticity, and making a declaration to yourself that health and wellbeing matter. As the world grows more digitized and more isolated we're craving real connection and permission to slow down in beautifully spaces, together.

Iconic locations. Unforgettable experiences.

Taking care of yourself was never supposed to feel like one more thing on the list. It's supposed to feel like indulgence. Something you want to keep coming back to. A look back at some of the places we’ve been and the memories we’ve made.

Our California retreats unfold across Sonoma's most beautiful private estates. Rolling vineyards, golden light, long tables set for women who are ready to show up for themselves. Days are grounded in movement and mindfulness. Evenings are slow, unhurried, full of laughter. This is wine country as medicine, not backdrop.

California Wine Country

We host retreats on private estates across Italy, from Tuscany's rolling hills to sun-soaked coastal towns. Think centuries-old villas, long lunches under olive trees, and ceremony rooted in reinvention. Our Tuscany retreats have become WellAway's flagship experience: four unforgettable days for a small circle of women, built around the same belief that carried us across the ocean.

Tuscany, Italy

Provence, France

We're bringing WellAway to Provence. Lavender fields, sun-bleached stone farmhouses, and the quiet rhythm of the French countryside. Think centuries-old mas tucked into the hills, long lunches under plane trees, and ceremony rooted in reinvention. You are allowed to come home to yourself, anywhere in the world.

Every detail, curated with intention. Four elements. Every retreat.

Nutrient-dense, chef-prepared meals built around real food and real pleasure — because feeding yourself well is part of the reconnection, not a diet plan.

Movement

Pilates, yoga, HIIT, hiking, dance, and silent disco, led by certified instructors and paced to how your body wants to move that day.

Nourishment

Guided breathwork, meditation, cacao ceremonies, and onsite spa treatments — space to slow down completely, without an agenda.

Holistic workshops on hormone health, skincare, nutrition, and gut health, held in small groups where honesty is welcome and nothing feels performative.

  • I miss WellAway Tuscany already. Fourteen of us, international and intergenerational, spent five days in the Tuscan hills bonding over journaling, MÜV dance meditations, pasta making, wine tasting, and Pilates. It felt like we'd known each other for ages, and Maria and her team's attention to detail, from the farm-to-table food to the balance of activities and downtime, was perfect. I’ve never felt so well-looked after and truly myself.

  • From the moment I sat down on Friday when we started the opening circle, everything in my body said “YES! This is where you’re supposed to be.” It was an incredible feeling that I’ve been going back to when I have tough moments. I’m so grateful for this nourishing space WellAway created.

  • This retreat with WellAway was my first but will definitely not be my last. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds and greeted with welcoming faces, I felt a sense of calm and happiness. What made this experience so special was the atmosphere that was created by the facilitators and the women who attended.

  • "A perfectly curated experience that intrigued all the senses. The focus of holistic wellness resonated through the entire retreat. From nourishing yet satisfying and filling meals, body awareness through specialized Pilates classes, complimented with fresh pressed juices to workshops that humanized and taught techniques to reduce the stresses of being a mom and partner. Maria and Carly were warm and passionate to provide a positive experience to all. They delivered on the aspects of life that moms most need. It was a beautiful location with plenty of free time to unwind, socialize and be at peace. Please sign me up again! Every mom should be pampered and cared for as WellAway Retreats provided."

Meet Our Founder

Maria Baum is a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBWHC), a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and the founder of WellAway Retreats — a boutique wellness company creating transformative experiences for women. Over the past four years, she has built restorative, intentional retreat spaces across California wine country and Europe, rooted in a simple belief: more women deserve access to the tools, resources, and products that help them prioritize their own wellbeing.

A dual Italian-American citizen who lived in Europe for over a decade, Maria was shaped by the old-world philosophy of slowing down, living intentionally, and savoring what matters — and that influence is the soul of every WellAway experience. With a background in corporate PR and media, and a Master's in Journalism from NYU, Maria gives each retreat its own sense of craft, narrative, and attention to detail.

Maria also offers 1:1 consulting for women who want to lead their own retreats, guiding them from concept to execution with the same care she brings to her own. Her larger mission: to shift the conversation about who retreats are for — because the women who need this most are often the ones who haven't yet given themselves permission to go.
