A foodie tuscan wellaway retreat
JULY 16th-20th, 2026
PALAIA, TUSCANY, ITALY
Set in the sunlit hills of Pisa, our four-night WellAway takes place at a restored luxury villa surrounded by vineyards, ancient olive groves, and abundant fruit and vegetable gardens. Here, life naturally slows—and the simple acts of eating, moving, and being present become sources of deep pleasure and joy.
Each morning begins with Pilates overlooking the Tuscan countryside, helping you feel strong, grounded, and effortlessly connected to your body before we gather at the table. Food is the heart of our time here: chef-curated, seasonal, and rooted in the Slow Food philosophy. Every dinner is a lingering four-course meal with local wine pairings, soulful conversation, and chef’s specials that celebrate the flavors of the region.
Throughout the retreat, you’ll experience food and movement as pathways to connection, presence, and joy:
• Guided morning Pilates to feel strong, centered, and in tune with your body
• An olive oil tasting with exceptional local producers
• Herb and vegetable foraging in the villa’s gardens
• A hands-on Tuscan cooking class
• A joyful custom-pizza-making night under the open sky
• A food culture + philosophy workshop on slow food culture
• Silent disco meditation and dance beneath the Tuscan stars—movement as joy and freedom
Between these experiences, there is spaciousness: time to lounge by the pool, wander the grounds or spend the afternoon in the local town, journal, rest, or enjoy optional spa treatments designed to deepen your sense of ease.

The Villa & BEDROOMS
At the heart of Tenuta Aquadivina stands a historic 16th-century Tuscan villa, thoughtfully restored to preserve its original character while offering modern comfort. The villa features eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with a private ensuite bath, creating an intimate and luxurious retreat setting for eight-twelve women.
Inside, spacious rooms showcase preserved architectural details—original flooring, grand marble fireplaces, and a curated collection of iconic mid-century Italian design pieces. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, designed for lingering conversations, shared meals, and quiet moments of reflection.
Outdoor living is woven seamlessly into the experience. Guests can gather in shaded lounges nestled in the greenery, dine beneath a wisteria-covered gazebo, or relax in the historic lemon house. A swimming pool sits at the center of the park, surrounded by sun loungers and shaded seating, with dedicated changing facilities and a bar area—perfect for slow afternoons under the Tuscan sun.
The Farm & Land
Tenuta Aquadivina spans 30 hectares of biodynamically cultivated land in the rolling hills just outside the historic town of Palaia, in the province of Pisa. The landscape is a mosaic of century-old cypress trees, flowering meadows, Mediterranean scrub, olive groves, vineyards, and organic gardens—an environment of rare beauty and deep connection to the land.
The estate produces its own IGP Toscana–certified olive oil, made from traditional Tuscan olive varieties, as well as young Sangiovese-based wines currently vinified as rosé. Following biodynamic and organic farming principles, the farm also grows medicinal herbs, fruits, and vegetables—all cultivated with respect for the ecosystem and nature.
In addition, the estate produces small-batch organic gin and honey, sourced from hives brought seasonally onto the property by a trusted local beekeeper. This living, breathing farm provides both the nourishment and the philosophy behind the retreat—where food, land, and presence are inseparable.

ABOUT WELLAWAY RETREATS
Discover the pleasure of food, movement and presence with us this summer.
WellAway Retreats was founded in 2022 by California natives and sisters-in-law Carly Baum and Maria Baum, brought together by a shared love of travel, motherhood, and intentional living.
After becoming mothers, both Carly and Maria made the conscious decision to step away from their corporate careers in favor of work that felt more meaningful and deeply aligned with their values. What emerged was a shared vision: to create thoughtfully designed spaces where women can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and return home feeling restored—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Maria is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBHWC) and a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, offering a grounded, holistic approach to health that emphasizes sustainable habits and mindful living. Carly is a birth and postpartum doula, bringing a nurturing presence and deep understanding of women’s transitions, care, and community.
Over the past three years, WellAway has hosted dozens of women’s wellness retreats throughout the Bay Area, and is now expanding internationally. Guests leave feeling supported, inspired, and equipped with practical tools they can integrate into everyday life—along with meaningful connections that extend well beyond the retreat itself.
At its core, WellAway is about creating space: space to rest, space to breathe, and space to come back to what truly supports your wellbeing.
