Curated luxury retreats in iconic locations.
Permission to put yourself first.
Immersive, intimate retreats designed to help you reconnect with yourself.
Not a spa weekend. Not a vacation.
A Wellaway.
This is what happens when you finally put yourself first.
Every retreat blends movement, stillness, real conversation, and beautiful food, in a space where you can be truly yourself and nourish your body.
From day retreats to overnights to full weekend experiences, we curate every detail with intention, so you remember what it feels like to put yourself first, and feel special doing it.
Every detail, curated with intention. Four elements. Every retreat.
Movement
Pilates, yoga, HIIT, hiking, dance, and silent disco, led by certified instructors and paced to how your body wants to move that day.
Nourishment
Nutrient-dense, chef-prepared meals built around real food and real pleasure — because feeding yourself well is part of the reconnection, not a diet plan.
Real Conversation
Holistic workshops on hormone health, skincare, nutrition, and gut health, held in small groups where honesty is welcome and nothing feels performative.
Stillness
Guided breathwork, meditation, cacao ceremonies, and onsite spa treatments — space to slow down completely, without an agenda.
Choose Your Wellaway
Taking care of yourself was never supposed to feel like one more thing on the list. It's supposed to feel like indulgence. Something you want to keep coming back to. Stay for however much time you have to give yourself.
-
A full day away, built for the woman who can't get away for a weekend but still needs to put herself first.
-
One night, fully unplugged — enough time to actually exhale.
-
Our signature format: multiple days of movement, stillness, food, and connection in an iconic setting.
-
Sometimes a weekend isn't enough. For the woman ready to go further, our extended retreats give you a full week or more to actually unwind, not just decompress.
California Wine Country
Our California retreats unfold across Sonoma's most beautiful private estates. Rolling vineyards, golden light, long tables set for women who are ready to show up for themselves. Days are grounded in movement and mindfulness. Evenings are slow, unhurried, full of laughter. This is wine country as medicine, not backdrop.
Tuscany, Italy
We host retreats on private estates across Italy, from Tuscany's rolling hills to sun-soaked coastal towns. Think centuries-old villas, long lunches under olive trees, and ceremony rooted in reinvention. Our Tuscany retreats have become WellAway's flagship experience: four unforgettable days for a small circle of women, built around the same belief that carried us across the ocean. You are allowed to come home to yourself, anywhere in the world.
Iconic locations. Unforgettable experiences.

Meet Our Founder
Founded by someone who needed this too.
Maria Baum is a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBWHC), a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and the founder of WellAway Retreats — a boutique wellness company creating transformative experiences for women. Over the past four years, she has built restorative, intentional retreat spaces across California wine country and Europe, rooted in a simple belief: more women deserve access to the tools, resources, and products that help them prioritize their own wellbeing.
A dual Italian-American citizen who lived in Europe for over a decade, Maria was shaped by the old-world philosophy of slowing down, living intentionally, and savoring what matters — and that influence is the soul of every WellAway experience. With a background in corporate PR and media, and a Master's in Journalism from NYU, Maria gives each retreat its own sense of craft, narrative, and attention to detail.
Maria also offers 1:1 consulting for women who want to lead their own retreats, guiding them from concept to execution with the same care she brings to her own. Her larger mission: to shift the conversation about who retreats are for — because the women who need this most are often the ones who haven't yet given themselves permission to go.
